Classic Brut

Champagne Deutz

The signature champagne of the house of Deutz from the village of Aÿ. Fresh, elegant and balanced – a perfect start to the evening and a reliable companion throughout dinner.

Characteristics

Three grapes in balance

Classic Brut is made from roughly equal parts of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, completed with reserve wines from earlier years. It matures for around three years on the lees in the house cellars.

In the glass it shows a pale golden colour and fine bubbles, with white flowers, pear and brioche on the nose.

Classic Brut shines on its own as well as at the table. Two moments when we recommend it most:

Aperitif

Fresh acidity and fine bubbles wake up the palate. A great match for oysters, tartare or light starters.

With dinner

Thanks to its share of Pinot Noir it has enough body for fish, poultry or aged cheeses.

Since 1838

The house of Deutz

Champagne Deutz was founded in 1838 by William Deutz and Pierre-Hubert Geldermann in Aÿ, one of the grand cru villages of the Marne Valley. The house is still known for fine, elegant champagnes.

Grapes

What’s in the bottle

Each of the three grapes brings something different to the cuvée.

Chardonnay

Freshness, finesse and citrus notes.

How to serve it

Serve chilled to 8–10 °C, ideally in a white wine glass, where the aromas open up better than in a narrow flute.
